Guided by Spiritual Activism

As a birthworker & space holder, Ale weaves together Traditional Mexican Medicine, Queer Knowledge, and Spiritual Activism to support Loves in their births and re-births as their whole selves. Ale is trained as a birthworker by the Birthworkers of Color Collective and other midwife maestras, and has supported families for 4 years through doula support, childbirth education classes, and lactation education classes.

Inspired by a legacy of pleasure activists and mothering-conscious thinkers, healers, and scholars, Ale brings a maternalista stance -- that of life-sustaining work against systems of oppression, with a particular goal of healing body/mind/spirit/sexuality splits through wholeness. Ale trained as a CuranderaScholarActivist with Dr. Irene Lara at San Diego State University as a pathway to do just this! Their educational background is in Psychology (B.A.) and Women's Studies (M.A.).

"We believe that every body has the right to be seen, heard, and supported in its journey toward reproductive justice."
